52 hats :: 12 - Something different
The title says it all: with this hat I just wanted to do something different. And I think that worked out quite nice. The garter stitch brim gives it a comfortable fit and the vertical stripes made it interesting to knit (and to look at, I think). Defnitely one to make again!

I never think to make such a deep garter brim. Perfect! I might steal this idea for a baby hat.
ReplyDeleteI was aiming for something different... I do like how that worked out ;-) I think it would be really cute and comfortable for a baby hat.
DeleteIs it the same hat. It is amazing how different the colour has come out.
ReplyDeleteYes, the same hat. I need to retake that top picture (the color of my face is really weird too), but haven't found (made) time to do that yet.
DeleteGreat hat! I love how the garter gets carried upwards in the stripes.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a bit of an experiment, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
Deletelove that wide brim! I find the older I get I love more cover up of my ears when wearing a hat.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked wide brims, maybe that had something to do with the fact that I had lots of ear infections when I was a child.
DeleteLooks like you are doing well on your goal! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, I'm actually way ahead (I do have time knit, but making time to take pictures and write blogs is harder).
DeleteI really like the style and most important also is a great fit!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
