Childhood revisited

My in-laws are cleaning out their attic...

Hats for Nest

I've always wanted to knit for charity, but most of them ask for "real wool" or at least "natural fibers" and my  budget usually doesn't allow for those.
Last week I realized I do have real wool. A lot of it actually, since the mountain of yarn I bought two years ago is still not gone.
So I started knitting hats for Nest Maine
I started with a hat using that special stitch from the shawl I made.

And then I made a simple hat

and another one from Soulemama's pattern.

There was some white wool too. So another Soulemama hat was made.

And one more of .the special stitch hat.

That makes five hats for Nest. Let's see if I can keep up with Amanda...

I never expected this when we bought it, but we've used it almost daily this summer.

A new knitting project

I like that special stitch on the shawl so much that I'm using it for a different project now. More on that later...

The big green shawl

Well there it is. Big and green and warm. I loved the special stitch and I really like this shawl a lot better than the blue one.
But I'm not sure if I'm ever going to wear it...

Growing and adding to the stash

The shawl is growing steadily.

So the stash needed some refilling.
Um, not really. But who can pass this up?

Sorted by color. And besides unusable scraps still a lot of interesting little skeins. I'm already dreaming up projects with this.

But first I'm going to leave it like it is for a while, just to enjoy those colors...

This is the best way to dry laundry, on the roof terrace when it's just a little windy.

Thrifted treasures

Flanel.To make more pyajama pants.

Another apron (I need to stop buying those, I hardly ever wear them, but I love how they look). And fabric. The red is about four metres and I don't have a clue what to do with it. Maybe bench covers and curtains for the boat?

This is what summer looks like

Garden hose through the door, muddy footsteps, it's all part of the deal. I love it!

A bike ride

I used to cycle a lot, like everyone in our country. But since we moved outside the village and I got my driver's license... well, my bike has been neglected terribly. But yesterday I decided to get my act together and do something about my declining strength and growing body and hop on that bike already.
It was fun. And of course I had to stop for pictures (and breathing) every once in a while...
